Offshore Job Descriptions, Responsibilites and Necessary Qualifications

Master

Responsibilities:
As a Master of a Falcon Global liftboat you will be held to a higher standard. Masters will be responsible for effectively managing the vessels crews. This includes but is not limited to the direction of all vessel operations, maintenance and safety. A master will also be expected to safely navigate and operate the vessel for the duration of all seagoing routes as well as maintaining compliance with all regulatory bodies. Master's will also be expected to complete daily logs for management and client use. A master will also be expected to educate and enforce all Falcon Global policies stated within the Falcon Global Safety Management System manual.

Qualifications:
All Master applicants must hold a valid STCW Master / Chief Mate 3000GT or More Unlimited (II/2) Certificate of Competency. Unlimited DPO Certification. 4 Years sea time as Master on similar type of vessel. 2 years DPO sea time on similar type of vessel. Prior experience working in a master's capacity on a liftboat is essential.

Chief Mate

Responsibilities:
As a Chief Mate working on a Falcon Global liftboat, your primary duty will be to assist the master. This may include but is not limited to managing the crew, general navigation and watch keeping while underway, and overseeing the daily operations directed by the master.

Qualifications:
All Chief Mate applicants must hold a valid STCW Master / Chief Mate 3000GT or More Unlimited (II/2) Certificate of Competency. Unlimited DPO Certification. 4 Years sea time as Chief Mate on similar type of vessel. 2 years DPO sea time on similar type of vessel. Prior experience working in a master's capacity on a liftboat is essential

2nd Mate

Responsibilities:
The 2nd Mate is responsible for maintaining the bridge navigational and communications equipment as well as assisting with the vessel's piloting, navigation, safety and small boat operations. The 2ndMate reports to the Captain and will assist the Master in communicating and enforcing all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
All 2nd Mate applicants must hold a valid STCW OICNW (II/1) Certificate of Competency. Unlimited DPO Certification. 2 Years sea time as OICNW on similar type of vessel. 2 years DPO sea time on similar type of vessel. Prior experience working in a master's capacity on a liftboat is essential

Chief Engineer

Responsibilities:
The Chief Engineer is the manager of the engineering department and is responsible for the engine room's efficient operation and the operation of all mechanical equipment on the ship. In this respect, the Chief Engineer shoulders much responsibility for the safe and continued running of the ship.

Qualifications:
All Chief Engineer applicants must hold a valid STCW Chief Engineer / Second Engineer Officer of 3,000kw or More Unlimited (III/2) Certificate of Competency. 4 Years sea time as Chief Engineer on similar type of vessel. 2 years sea time on vessel equipped with diesel electric driven z-drives. Prior experience working in a chief engineer’s capacity on a liftboat is essential.

2nd Engineer

Responsibilities:
The 2nd engineer provides utmost assistance to the Chief engineer for running the ship efficiently. Moreover, second engineer is also in-charge of all the operational engineers and the crew of the engine room. He ensures for their personnel safety and routine duties. He also plans the overall maintenance of all the machinery present in the engine room of the ship.

Qualifications:
All 2nd applicants must hold a valid STCW Chief Engineer / Second Engineer Officer of 3,000kw or More Unlimited (III/2) Certificate of Competency. 2 Years sea time as 2nd Engineer on similar type of vessel. Prior experience working on vessels with diesel electric propulsion is preferred but not required. Prior experience working in a 2nd Engineers capacity on a liftboat is essential.
